Week 1 - Feeling the heat?
Today we have just went through a life-skills module called Problem Solving. I hope you have learn something about handling the problem and the steps involved. Because now that you are tasked to carry out a certain portion of MarVellouS Cup, maybe you will face some problems.
In this week Blog entry, it is going to be simple. You are required to answer 3 questions.
0) Before you start writing the blog, remember the comments i mentioned in your blog? Now is the time to answer them. You can copy the comment i posted, followed by your answer. Be creative, used different colour fonts and styles to differentiate between my question and your answer.
1) Describe in details, what is the role given to you for MarVellouS Cup.
In order to do that you have to treat your audience as if they does not know what is MarVellouS Cup. So giving a short description as to what is MarVellouS Cup will be helpful. Then dive into the role that is given to you. Describe also a bit as to how you feel about the appointment given to you. Make it as personal as you can.
2) Describe how will you prepare for the role that is given to you.
Logistical wise, most if not all will be handled by myself. So this part is more about preparing YOURSELF into do what is required for the role.
Understand this, MVS Youth is different after all. Though they may feel the same, they are different too. So what do you think you can do to help yourself cope with the role entrusted to you better?
Do you need to prepare scripts of speeches or look through the game plan all over again?
Do you want to play it at you OTOT?
Do you want to discuss with me as to how to organise the games seperately?
There is much you can do, only whether you are willing.
3) What do you think will be the problems faced in your role?
Think through, what will be the problems that might affects your role. These could be super big problems with low likelihood of occurring, or small problem with high likelihood of occurring.
Remember, for MVS Youths, most of these games are strange and new to them. Take note.
Can? Is this tough? No right. I believe you guys can make it!
Looking forward to seeing you guys on the Camp.
BTW, by Wednesday 10th July, please make sure there is 14 Poles available for me to use. If you need to borrow from NPCC, please do! Important. Can ensure them that we will bring back in 1 piece.

Week 0
Guys, as mentioned, you are required to start blogging down your thought process starting this week. As far as possible, it should be once per week. But still, if you feel strongly, please go ahead and blog as frequent as you want.
I dun know about you. But when I first come to MVS with Qing Hong, I am reminded about those individuals that we seen all too often at KFC serve food items to us or simply clearing away the food items at hawker centre. I am reminded of my old classmate in my primary schools days that we simply find it hard to communicate with and even my own cousin whom has autism.
These group of individuals are out there. There are part of the society, living in perhaps the same neighbourhood, same estate or even the same block. But how many of us actually understand them? I am guilty of not actually understanding them. Something like taking MRT, which happens to be something i thought pretty simple, is to them one that requires training. It sort of wake me up as to what this BB CARES project should do for them, and for us too.
So for you first entry to your blog, I hope you answer a few simple question.
1) Gives a brief summary of what you understand of the VWO that you are serving.
By now, you should have rough idea of what this VWO you are serving is. So in your own words, try your best to share with reader, what do you understand of the VWO that you serve.
2) What is this project to you?
You have been assign a VWO. So what is this project to you? Is this another Community Service Project that you are doing? Is this just another event that you plan?
Or is this more to it?
A chance for you to understand this group of people (MVS Youth or ARC Children) better?
A event for you to bring some form of joy to these people?
3) What do you hope to do?
This question got to do with your event. You may have no idea what event you want to embark right now? But at this stage, what is one event that you hope to conduct for your Youths/Children. Please dun say you have no idea. You should have some idea. If you dun have any idea, look for ideas, could be from last year. Remember what MVS staff mention, At the event of the event, it should be something that the youth/children can bring back.
A typical block entry should have pictures, and words. As such, aim to take pictures when you are with MVS or ARC every week, to be used on your blog.
OK? Any questions, you can leave a comment :)
